Can our body look good past 50?

Great question and the answer is YES, it can.  And what's even better is it can look better than good...it can look fantastic.  Age isn't the determinant of how our body looks, feels and performs....we are.  And these days when even the younger generations are struggling with weight and health issues, we fitter 50+-year olds can quietly go around looking pretty darn good, teehee.

In fact, I've got the pleasure right now of training a woman past her 65th birthday with a beautiful body.  She's strong, stronger than many 30-year olds I've trained and her muscles are beautifully defined.  She's kept the body of a 40-year old...well once I fine-tune her work-outs I fully expect to see her sporting the body of a sculpted and well-defined 40-year old.  I'm really excited by this. To me it says a strong and properly sculpted body is ageless and can stay very sexy looking at any age.  It's like finding the holy grail.

At 50+, we aren't necessarily looking to have the body of a bikini model, (although we of course don't mind if thats what happens, teehee) we just want to be able to undress, or wear a bikini  or trunks comfortably.  I think the thing we hate the most is arriving at this age, looking in the mirror and to our horror seeing an unfit stranger staring back at us.  We kept busy at everything except caring for ourselves and somewhere along the road things just got out of hand.  The unbelievably great news is if that's you (and I don't care how out of shape you are) there's actually still hope for you....can you believe that!!!  It's really true.  The body is this fantastic and forgiving.

The healthy lifestyle habit for today is: At 50+ if you want to be sporting a body to be comfortable in and proud of you need to incorporate a serious weight-training program into an otherwise well-rounded and well-thought out wellness action plan.  Today's picture is of me taken in Galveston, Texas enjoying beach and sun.  There's nothing earth-shattering about my 50-year old body, but it's certainly a body I can feel comfortable in.
