The Doctor said it was good that I had muscle in place before the surgery so everything wasn't atrophied which would have resulted in a longer rehabilitation period. So thanks for all the help. PS. I do exercises on the roller and ball at home to keep my upper back in shape. Don't want my posture to go bad again. You had made big improvements for me in that department.

I have known Nina for approximately two years during which time she served as my personal trainer. When I was in the latter stages of rehabilitation from a broken arm I was introduced to her as a person who could do a number of things for me--things I had to do if I were to experience a full recovery. First I was out of conndition as a result of being relatively inactive because of my injury. Nina introduced me to her Program which was a balance of recognizing my condition and the need to be firm but gentle at the same time. In my experience this is not a balance one finds in many trainers. Secondly, I also had a partially frozen shoulder as a result of my arm being in a sling for a prolonged period. of time. Suffice it to say I now have full recovery of both my arm and my shoulder Not bad for a 73-year old. One doctor said it could not be done. To sum up based on my experience I would not hesitate to recommend Nina as a Personal Trainer--she is more than that. Thank you Nina. David K.

However, you were always someone who came from a place of 'yes' and openness so that your clients - and myself felt comfortable and at ease, this has to do with your warmth and your true ability to show compassion and trust. Sometimes it felt more like working with a friend and therapist then it did a trainer. You pushed but at the same time were perceptive enough to know how hard to push or not and if a friend or encouragement was needed vs. a drill sergeant. You knew when to give suggestions and it seemed like you knew who would be capable of accepting your direction. Nina was recommended to me by my physiotherapist after treatment from a serious auto accident in 2004. She set up a rehabilitation program to deal with my damaged right leg and foot which included strength training, breathing exercises and injury specific rehab. I found her holistic approach to my health very beneficial. I went into her program in 2006 with a lot of mobility difficulties and was on crutches and in pain. Nina was my personal trainer for 11/2 years. During that time I improved my strength, general health and attitude toward exercise. Nina Leavins taught me to listen to my body and train in a way that keeps me interested and upbeat and I have had excellent results with this approach. I used to get discouraged if I missed a work-out or had a "bad" work-out. Nina showed me how to get my mind around those roadblocks and maintain a positive attitude toward health and fitness.
